In 2007 the inhabitants of Cocorná, Antioquia, were displaced from their lands due to the internal armed conflict experienced in Colombia. "FEST" - Families on Their Land, was born as a government policy to guarantee comprehensive care to Colombians who, being victims of forced displacement, decided voluntarily - betting on the restoration of their rights and the reinvention of their lives and dreams - by going back to their territories to start anew. Ten years later, the Antioquians returned to their lands with their hands full of projects and associations to work the fields.

For many years the municipality of Cocorná remained uninhabited due to the violence in Colombia. Today, its inhabitants are filled with projects and with the illusion of retaking their homes and their lands. They have formed an association to work in the field. Being an association, intermediaries buy at a fair price. Thus, they have gone from artisanal to agro-industrial, and the farmer reaches the consumer directly.

"FEST" contributes to the socioeconomic stabilization of households victims of forced displacement (returned or relocated) through a comprehensive intervention that includes the strengthening of human and social capital, food security, habitability, and the generation or strengthening of productive projects.

The Colombian Government has designed, developed, and executed hundreds of projects to complement and strengthen the processes carried out by the communities through social programs of health, education, housing, basic sanitation, and food security. As well as producing projects for the generation income, environmental quality, industrial safety and institutional strengthening of public, private, and grassroots organizations.

The rigorousness of the intervention, the permanent accompaniment, the respectful relationship with the community, and the building of alliances, allowed Social Prosperity and FUPAD to manage and consolidate successful results for over ten years of intervention.
